Oh Mother,

Please hold me,

Protect me.

They say I’m a sinner.

They beat me.

They spit on me.

Oh Mother,

Why are you leaving?

Please don’t leave me alone.

I’m scared.

Fight for me.

You promised me that you would.

Oh Mother,

Now, I’m dead,

Broken.

What was my fault?

Nurturing some dreams?

Falling in love?

Oh Mother,

Why did you not kill me in the cradle,

If you had no place for this son?

Why did you play with me?

Oh Mother,

I hate you so much.

Sure, I’ll have only one mother in this life.

Sure, I’ll hate her more than anyone else.

Oh Mother,

I hate you.

Authors Note: This poem was written in regards to my Motherland, where I have to live a life of lies. A mother who can’t accept a gay child. Apparently, this ‘mother’ doesn’t love all his sons equally.
